Alissa Embry strengthens the people practices that support Nordis Technologies’ continued growth while Andrew Ship helps keep client communications moving.
Alissa Embry, Senior Director, People and Culture
Alissa Embry is helping Nordis Technologies grow while preserving what employees say makes the company special: Talented people, close collaboration and a culture where ideas are nurtured and contributions are seen.
As Senior Director, People and Culture, Alissa is responsible for talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits and employee engagement. She also serves as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team.
Alissa and other leaders are helping Nordis use AI in ways that strengthen the business, support employees and improve how the company serves clients. In HR, she uses data and AI to streamline recruiting and strengthen decision-making. Even as she embraces these tools, Alissa is clear about their limits. AI can help manage high resume volume and support analytics, but human expertise and judgment remain central.
For Alissa, people strategy is business strategy. Done well, it shapes how a company succeeds, how leaders lead and how employees stay connected to the work.
One recent example is Nordis’ new employee recognition platform, the company’s first formal online system for real-time recognition. Employees can recognize peers, managers can provide monetary or non-monetary recognition, and the platform also highlights birthdays, work anniversaries and other milestones. Alissa sees it as a practical way to make appreciation more visible, especially in a company with long-tenured employees and newer team members bringing fresh ideas.
Alissa also keeps Nordis’ two production locations connected. One way: Involving Las Vegas team members in planning employee events so experiences feel cohesive across both sites. It’s a practical priority in a company with multiple shifts, production environments and work groups in different states.
Alissa points to workforce data that reinforces the point. Gallup research links high employee engagement to better retention, productivity and profitability. For Alissa, engagement starts with clear communication and managers who are committed to supporting and developing their teams.
That’s the work she’s advancing at Nordis, a people function designed to serve employees, strengthen leaders and help the company keep growing with focus, cohesion and purpose.
Andrew Ship, Client Experience Manager
Andrew Ship helps manage the mission-control work behind client communications, where every detail is critical for successful production timing. As a Client Experience Manager, he brings a broad technology and customer care background to a role that depends on precision, follow-through and clear communication.
Andrew serves as a day-to-day contact for clients, with much of his focus on healthcare accounts and RCM firms. He answers questions, tracks requests and helps keep clients’ mailing packages moving as expected by aligning timelines and execution. That often includes triaging information from a steady flow of emails, system notifications and client meetings to identify what needs action and who needs to be involved.
He helps clients work through file issues, such as when a file fails because of a naming, formatting or data mismatch. He also coordinates program change requests (PCRs) when clients need to update their communications programs.
Andrew came from environments where customers generally used the same SaaS platform in the same way. Expresso® stood out because Nordis configures workflows, logic and requirements around each client’s business needs.
He was also drawn to Nordis because of his background in text messaging and sees that channel growing quickly as organizations give consumers faster, more convenient access to bills and payment links. One of his clients recently expanded text messaging from one provider to five, with more planned. He’s also looking forward to the continued evolution of digital communications at Nordis, including RCS, the next generation of text messaging.
Outside work, Andrew’s curiosity and analytical tendency show up in genealogy. He’s built a family tree of nearly 5,000 people, tracing relatives and connections through historical records. Born in Montreal, Andrew has lived in the United States for most of his life. This summer, he and his girlfriend plan to travel to Quebec City, cruise through eastern Canada and end in Boston for the Fourth of July.
